2022 was a strange year on a number of fronts, let alone here at Beer O’Clock HQ! We ticked a lot of beer experiences off, traveled to almost every state & territory (sorry WA) and went and covered our first International coverage at SEA-Brew in Bangkok.

With all that went on I didn’t get to dedicate as much time as I would’ve liked to the website, something I hope to change in 2023. Soon you’ll see the Golden Pints Awards for 2022, our yearly wrap up of all things beer, that Dylan & I recorded late last year. We’re going to try and be slightly more regular on the podcast this year, with any luck you’ll see an episode drop roughly in the middle of each month – but as usual we’ll see how that goes.

Year of the Local is back! I’m making a concerted effort to try and finish this year – we’ll see how we go though. There’s currently 85 to write, a number that will only increase as there are a number of openings that I’m aware of in the pipeline. When you consider we only got 9 up last year, 85 may be a stretch. At this time last year there were only 71 to write – so we went significantly backwards!

I’m also going to try and write a few different bits and pieces this year – I think part of the issue with Year of the Local is it became a little all consuming. I think writing a few different bits and pieces may help with the creative flow and help me knock out more YOTL stuff. Anyway, we’ll see how we go. As usual questions, thoughts, anything is welcome at angus@beeroclockaustralia.com. Here’s to a great year in beer in 2023!

Remember it’s always Beer O’Clock somewhere in the world!
